| CAPTAIN'S
LOG
A bit of minor "Rockin & Rollin" last
night after the pilot got off at Matinicus. A lot of early to
bed syndrome....but that is quite normal after a port call on a
ship. ANY ship, not just training ships. By the way New
York Maritime embarks on their Training Cruise next Monday the 14th.
I got a voice mail from their Master, Captain Rick Smith wishing us
well and telling me they would most likely talk to us in the Med as
they are headed for Italy and then St. Petersburg.
The 2000-2400 watch last night had a minor
slow down due to an overheating problem, soon solved and back up to
speed. The Midnight to 0400 was a different story. We
were shut down for about 3 hours while they removed a tank from the
Fuel Skid (processes fuel for viscosity for the main engine), that
had ruptured. Fortunately it was NOT one we used so it was
simply removed and blanked off and we were back on our way.
We are currently off Nova Scotia, SW
corner, heading for the next waypoint when we turn and head straight
for the Azores. As can be expected, the Sea Water temperature
has gone down the the high 30's and we have FOG. So we will
listen to the ship's whistle for a while, until we get in warmer
water and we get out of the fog.
YESTERDAY'S Web page did not get published
to the shore until this morning despite getting it published here
aboard last night. Problem with communications between the
Satellite computer and the ship's server with the web page on it.
SORRY, about that!

Answer page.
