Terrific sunrise
this morning.

After a clock advance one hour last night
we woke to the sunrise above. Pretty special! It is
comfortably cool this morning but I expect it will get a bit warmer
as the day progresses.
We had a stop yesterday afternoon to fix a
problem on #6 cylinder of the Main Engine. The injector
nozzles are cooled by water which is circulated through the injector
and leaks back of to a tank. Our tank started overflowing and
showed oil in it. By disconnecting the leak off lines, the 1st
assistant was able to identify the #6 cylinder as the culprit, so we
stopped, they disconnected the lines and sure enough you could see
the carbon buildup from the heavy oil right away. Part change
out, reconnection of the pipes and we were on our way again.
We are about 42 hours from the start of the
Azores at noon today and should have a great passage through the
Islands on Sunday night and Monday during the day. Just so
happens that Monday is also the 1st Holiday Routine of the Cruise so
that will mean everyone will have plenty of time for sightseeing as
we pass through.
Meanwhile today and tomorrow are normal
days for us as they are for all ships at Sea. Ships certainly
do not stop for Saturday or Sunday nor Holidays for that matter.
They do get caught up in shore side National and Religious Holidays
on occasion, but that just gives the crews of the ships a bit of
extra breathing space.
