LOG Editorial note and
corrections. Our reporter and editorial staff made an error in
yesterday's sports column, we are deeply humbled and hope that this
error did not cause undo stress and hardship on those involved. The
text should have read;
The basketball
tournament has been reduced to the final two. Team "Slippery
When Wet," which consists of Trepp, Farin, Cullen, and Stewart.
Who will
be challenging team "Shake and Bake," which consists of, Morse, Malo,
OMAR CHAAR, and JARRED
STERNBERG . Good Luck to both teams.
I am pretty sure that we can accurately
report that we have successfully arrived in Split. This morning's
tour of the Croatian islands as we made our approach was incredible.
It was as if we slipped back into time. There was quite a morning
crowd on the bridge wing. A Croatian language lesson was offered by
Capt. Brandon, who believes that she will be able to talk her way
out of trouble. We are not convinced, and will have the American
embassy on stand by to bail her out.
We have been assigned a berth in the
industrial section of Split, which from a learning perspective isn't
bad as we passed ship yards and repair facilities. The bad part
about it is that we will be relying on the local bus service to get
us into town. Which is about 15 minutes away. The Language will be a
challenge in this part of town. However, I am optimistic that there
will be some English spoken in the tourist section of town.
This should be a great port for the
students, full of culture and history, crystal clear water and
plenty of opportunities to challenge their imaginations.
Although it was very comfortable on the
water. As we finished tying up away from the sea breeze, it started
to get very hot. Liberty, Liberty, Liberty; look out Split here we
come.
