| SHIP'S
LOG We were anticipating
a departure time of 0800 this morning. However, we are awaiting a part
for one of our radars, which will delay our sailing. A vessel can not
set to sea without two working radars, therefore we must wait.
So, we set sea routine while we are along
side the dock. We are expecting the part to arrive around 1500, and
will depart soon thereafter. But, as always in the shipping business,
we can not make final arrangements until the part is in hand. Things
do have a tendency to get lost in the airports.
Every student I
interviewed agreed that this was the best port. Good ports for
students are those that offer a lot of alternative experiences.
Split seemed to cover most of the bases. Plenty to see, plenty to
do, good weather, and friendly people. I would recommend Croatia as
a travel destination to anyone.
So here we are waiting, to begin our
next leg of the voyage. West bound with the clocks being set back as
quickly as they were advanced on the way over. I predict that there
will be a lot of people walking around aimlessly on deck around 3
am, as their bodies adjust to the change.
We are glad that we had the opportunity
to discover the Mediterranean Sea, but are looking forward to our
return voyage.
We say good by to our Bangor Daily
Reporters as well as President and Bonny Tyler. But, add to our crew
Tim Kenefick from NOAA, who will provide invaluable insight to
weather observations and weather education.
