The bridge has
spinning window units mounted on three of the forward-looking
windows. These units have a circular piece of glass attached to an
electric motor, which spins the glass at 1500 RPM to sling water off
it. This allows the mates to see clearly through the glass during
periods of heavy rain and wind-driven spray.
