Daily Question and Answer Question: What does the crew do during the Summer? Answer: Everyone is looking forward to some time home with family.....HOWEVER Due to the fiscal restraints of the government most all of our purchasing for the Fall and Winter overhauls of equipment and ship upgrades that have been deferred from the 1st three quarters of the fiscal year, need to be completed in the next month or so. There are also two weeks of maintenance scheduled to begin on the 7th of July. There is also an annual schoolship conference which is in Colorado this year (hosted by the Colorado Navy?....who knows). Then the 3rd week of August the new students start arriving so there is not a whole lot of time. Most of the crew was away ALL last summer so some family time is very important. Lastly we need to fix the stern tube seals!
